"The Sting" & "Hustle"

Most of us would agree that even with 300+ channels and all sorts of packages offered by the big media. I think we can all agree that in the tube as in the cinemas now a days it's filled with crap shows and movies.

I do enjoy the classics and there's no better con movie then "The Sting" with Paul Newman and Robert Redford.

As far as television shows there's a small percent of winners even worth mentioning. I will mention one that carries the same amount of axcitement and creative skill to "The Sting" and this show is "Hustle". If you have not seen it check it out or visit the website.

www.ihateclowns.com

1. A clown wrote the original music and lyrics to (you guessed it) "Macarena."
2. They are different than the rest of us.
3. They rhyme with frowns.
4. They have big feet.
5. See: The Seinfeld episode where George meets "Eddie" the clown.
6. They have a phobia named after them. (coulrophobia, more commonly known as clownophobia)
7. Jack Handy "Deep Thought": To me, clowns aren't funny. In fact, they're kind of scary. I've wondered where this started and I think it goes back to the time I went to the circus, and a clown killed my dad.
8. Read the Stephen King book, "It".
9. You know what they say, "Once a clown, always a clown."
10. I sang a sad song about them (needs REAL player).
11. See: The Animaniacs episode where Wakko meets the Jerry Lewis-like clown.
12. A clown stole my dad's job.
13. I bet Paul Newman never played a clown character. (You gotta like Paul Newman)
14. A clown ate the dog that ate my homework. (And my professor wouldn't believe me!)
15. See: The Bill Murray movie, "Quick Change."
16. They don't follow vehicle safety rules (20 in a car can't be legal).
17. A clown wouldn't make a good superhero. Ex: "Never fear, Clown-Man is here!" (See, it's an oxymoronic phrase...not that I'm scared of clowns, mind you.)
18. See: Any episode of the Simpson's featuring Krusty the Clown. (One word: seedy)
19. Clowns stink.
20. See: Any episode of In Living Color featuring Homey D. Clown. (One word: militant)
21. Clowns have to smile all the time. Repressing all their non-happy feelings can't be good for them.
22. I have never seen a clown help an old lady across the street.
23. Another Jack Handy "Deep Thought": You know what would make a good story? Something about a clown who makes people happy, but inside he's real sad. Also, he has severe diarrhea.
24. Just for stopping by you get these FREE Bonus Reasons!
Star Trek

Captain Kirk had to hate clowns.
Clowns made the tribbles.
Clowns shaved Captain Picard's head.
The BORG is really a futuristic group of extra evil clowns. (I believe it's the Bozo ORGanization.)
Star Wars

Darth Vader's mangled face is really another mask. Under that he is really a clown (that's the real secret.)
Boba Fett's first bounty was to capture a clown pirate.
X-Files

The "Cigaratte Smoking Man" works part time as a clown. (That's right--a clown killed JFK and MLK!)
Sculley was really abducted by a group of rogue clowns, trained as helicopter pilots.
Pulp Fiction

A clown was the one who scratched Vincent Vega's car after he got it out of storage.
The briefcase: Yes, it was Marsellus Wallace's clown suit inside. (He had to keep that out of the wrong hands. Would you want everyone to know you were a clown?)
Usual Suspects

Keyser Soze = the devil = a clown.

Monster Nicaraguan Chicken & Vegetable Soup

With good friends visiting from NYC. I wanted to give them a big hearty meal from the mother land.
They loved it with all the spices and plenty of vegetables.

Whats Up With Clowns

I have always hated clowns. I remember one holloween my grandmother made me a clown costume and hat to wear it. I'm thirty years old and I still hate them and my family knows this.

We had a small get together at my place today since I was going to attempt to cook my fathers monster "Nicaraguan chicken and vegetable soup", as he calls it.

Anyhow- my aunt tina said she was thinking about me when she saw this painting at the market.

She hung it up in my room and said I could not take it down until I got over the whole fear of clowns.

I love my family but this is one huge nightmare.

DON'T THEY UNDERSTAND I HATE CLOWNS.

Voices Heard

In a distant time and place.
A generation still divided
so, many times over by color- race and burning hate.
Disrupt the ripples of time.
Disrupt! Disrupt! Oh! Generation of mine.
-The burning crosses of one thought and one single idea
started years before by one single mind.
Let your voice be heard and be carried over time and space.
Sheeps to the flock we are
led to the slaughter with hands and mouth bound
Just beginning are the cries of those before you
-Silenced-
they’d like us to be
By now we should be able to communicate.
coming to blows is all we do.
Oh! Please let me break down
these walls of color- race and burning hate.

tomorrows at the door

is this my journey.
what tales will my character bring forth to this world.
a life lived.
or maybe a life not lived at all.
waiting for tomorrow.
will it ever come.
will it bring my hopes and dreams.
how will i know.
will it give me a sign to let me know it's here
"This is your packaged day"
Recognize.
grab hold and don't let it go.
it only comes once for some folks.
is tomorrow already knocking at my door.
do I not hear it.
em i deaf.
is this fear i hear and feel and not the knock at my door.
knock! knock!
whose there?
STOP!
CONCENTRATE. this is not a joke.
do i believe the choice has been taken away from me already.
a higher power above.
em i awake to answer anything.
do i understand time and space.
the day after tomorrow being today.
or maybe a day to late
is today my "packaged day"
are these fears and these words all from yesterday
making the day after tomorrow, which is today
really tomorrow.

the follies of summer

quicksand, ocean sky
wondering, don't ask me why or how we got here
we just did
the most eternal sun-drenched kiss is locked in my mind as
something i won't miss
or even try to remember
summer has come and gone so many times i've lost count
endless, nameless, marked by time as nothing special
but the warmth is here, you see
in darling soliloquy
hidden in costume and fine-boned prose
under canopies of sheltered light and life
Summer is here and it is all mine.

It's Over and Now I'm Moving On

Nikki brought over my items this afternoon and I'm glad. I did not get three items but I only ask for my poetry book back. I wished her the best and called her after she left to tell her Thank You and remind her I'm always here for her if she needs anything. I'm glad it's over and I'm ready to move on and this trip to NYC is just what I needed to focus.

Crazy Night Out In NYC

We started out at Jessica's apartment in Battery Park around 12 am. We had already been out for dinner hour ago at the Cutting Room and then to a bar on Central Park West instead of Greenwich Village. We started out strong and got really drunk quick. I took these pictures through out the night and they are in no real order- but I love this one of Becky over the toilet at the end of the night. I have not partied with this girl since college and I'm so glad I was able to track her down. I had to call friends in Ohio to get a hold of her sister Karen to get me her number. We did a lot of dancing and getting eachother shots.

Out With Friends In NYC

After we got back from breakfast I was trying to put my day together. I had a lot to do and had to make my way to Battery Park to meet up with some old girlfriends of mine that were also in the city. I was really happy I did not get lost because Julian and I were already running late as it was. I was really happy to see Danielle and Angela who are visiting their good friend Jessica who just moved to the city. We had a few drinks before we headed out to lunch. We had a big day together and we were going to do the sights and see as much as possible for the day. We had lunch at this wonderful Sushi Bar and of course we had to have some hot Sake. We found out Angela hates it but thats another story. I wanted to see the Guggenheim and took a picture of it as well as the Trump Plaza. I love the picture of the Empire State Building and the ones just out on the street. Anyway- I want to make this quick because I have to get ready for dinner tonight and were going out to The Cutting Room in SoHo and then to this great bar in Greenwich Village.
